³ Therefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent word ^(A)to Hoham king of Hebron, to Piram king of Jarmuth, to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,

⁵ So the five kings of ^(A)the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, gathered together and went up, they with all their armies, and camped by Gibeon and fought against it.

¹⁹ They formed a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to ^(A)Lachish; but they sent men to Lachish after him and they killed him there.

¹⁴ Then Hezekiah king of Judah sent messengers to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, “^(A)I have done wrong. ^[a]Withdraw from me; whatever you impose on me I will endure.” So the king of Assyria imposed on Hezekiah king of Judah the payment of three hundred ^[b]talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.

² And the ^(A)king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem to King Hezekiah with a large army. And he stood by the ^(B)conduit of the upper pool on the road to the ^[a]fuller’s field.
