35 A slave does not stay with a family forever, but a son belongs to the family forever. 36 So if the Son makes you free, you will be truly free. 37 I know you are Abraham’s children, but you want to kill me because you don’t accept my teaching.

35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.(A) 36 So if the Son sets you free,(B) you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me,(C) because you have no room for my word.
