John 4:8-10
New American Standard Bible
8 For His (A)disciples had gone away to (B)the city to buy food. 9 So the (C)Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, though You are a Jew, are asking me for a drink, though I am a Samaritan woman?” (For (D)Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus replied to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you (E)living water.”

8 (His disciples had gone into the town(A) to buy food.)
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan(B) woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”(C)
