New American Standard Bible

17 For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness,
For he is familiar with the (A)terrors of thick darkness.

18 “They are [a](B)insignificant on the surface of the water;
Their plot of land on the earth is (C)cursed.
They do not turn [b]toward the (D)vineyards.
19 Dryness and heat (E)snatch away the snow waters,
As [c](F)Sheol snatches those who have sinned.

    their portion of the land is cursed,(E)
    so that no one goes to the vineyards.(F)
19 As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow,(G)
    so the grave(H) snatches away those who have sinned.
