¹⁸ Behold now, I have ^(A)prepared my case;
I know that ^(B)I will be vindicated.

⁶ Know then that ^(A)God has wronged me
And has surrounded me with ^(B)His net.

⁵ Far be it from me that I should declare you right;
Until I die, ^(A)I will not ^[a]give up my integrity.
⁶ I have ^(B)kept hold of my righteousness and will not let it go.
My heart does not rebuke any of my days.

⁵ For Job has said, ‘^(A)I am righteous,
But ^(B)God has taken away my right;

² “I know that ^(A)You can do all things,
And that no plan is impossible for You.
³ ‘Who is this who ^(B)conceals advice without knowledge?’
Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand,
Things ^(C)too wonderful for me, which I do not know.
⁴ ‘Please listen, and I will speak;
I will ^(D)ask You, and You instruct me.’
⁵ I have ^(E)heard of You by the hearing of the ear;
But now my ^(F)eye sees You;
⁶ Therefore I retract,
And I repent, sitting on dust and ashes.”
