²⁸ For this the ^(A)earth will mourn,
And the ^(B)heavens above will become dark,
Because I have ^(C)spoken, I have purposed,
And I have not ^[a]changed My mind, nor will I turn from it.”

²⁰ The ^(A)anger of the Lord will not turn back
Until He has ^(B)performed and carried out the purposes of His heart;
^(C)In the last days you will clearly understand it.

²⁹ So the ^(A)land quakes and writhes,
For the plans of the Lord against Babylon stand,
To make the land of Babylon
^[a]A ^(B)desolation without inhabitants.
