²⁵ I looked, and behold, there was no human,
And all the ^(A)birds of the sky had fled.

And for the pastures of the ^(B)wilderness a song of mourning,
Because they are ^(C)laid waste so that no one passes through,
And the sound of the livestock is not heard;
Both the ^(D)birds of the sky and the animals have fled; they are gone.

¹⁷ Even if the ^(A)fig tree does not blossom,
And there is no ^[a]fruit on the vines,
If the yield of the ^(B)olive fails,
And the fields produce no food,
Even if the ^(C)flock disappears from the fold,
And there are ^(D)no cattle in the stalls,
