“This is what the Lord says: ‘Anyone who (A)stays in this city will die by the (B)sword, by famine, or by plague; but anyone who surrenders to the Chaldeans will live and have his own (C)life as plunder, and stay alive.’ This is what the Lord says: ‘This city will certainly be (D)handed over to the army of the king of Babylon and he will capture it.’” Then the (E)officials said to the king, “Please have this man put to death, since he is [a](F)discouraging the men of war who are left in this city and [b]all the people, by speaking words like these to them; for this man (G)is not seeking the well-being of this people, but rather their harm.”

Then the officials(D) said to the king, “This man should be put to death.(E) He is discouraging(F) the soldiers who are left in this city, as well as all the people, by the things he is saying to them. This man is not seeking the good of these people but their ruin.”
