³ because Zedekiah king of Judah had ^(A)imprisoned him, saying, “Why do you ^(B)prophesy, saying, ‘^(C)This is what the Lord says: “Behold, I am going to ^(D)hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will take it;

⁵ Then he will ^(A)take Zedekiah to Babylon, and he will be there until I visit him,” declares the Lord. “If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will ^(B)not succeed”’?”

⁴ therefore, behold, I am going to give you to the ^[a](A)people of the east as a possession, and they will set up their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they will ^(B)eat your fruit and drink your milk.

⁷ therefore, behold, I have ^(A)reached out with My hand against you and I will give you as ^(B)plunder to the nations. And I will ^(C)cut you off from the peoples and ^(D)eliminate you from the lands. I will exterminate you. So you will ^(E)know that I am the Lord.”
