36 Hear the sound of the cry of the shepherds,
And the wailing of the mighty ones of the flock!
For Yahweh is destroying their pasture,
37 And the peaceful (A)pastures are made silent
Because of the (B)burning anger of Yahweh.
38 He has forsaken His hiding place (C)like the lion;
For their land has become an object of horror
Because of the burning desire of [a]the oppressor
And because of His burning anger.”

for the Lord is destroying their pasture.
37 The peaceful meadows will be laid waste
because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 Like a lion(C) he will leave his lair,
and their land will become desolate(D)
because of the sword[a] of the oppressor(E)
and because of the Lord’s fierce anger.(F)
