16 The Lord named you
“A (A)green olive tree, beautiful in fruit and form”;
With the (B)noise of a great [a]tumult
He has (C)set fire to it,
And its branches are worthless.

17 The Lord of armies, who (D)planted you, has (E)pronounced evil against you because of the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, which they have [b]done to provoke Me by [c](F)offering sacrifices to Baal.

But with the roar of a mighty storm
    he will set it on fire,(B)
    and its branches will be broken.(C)

17 The Lord Almighty, who planted(D) you, has decreed disaster(E) for you, because the people of both Israel and Judah have done evil and aroused(F) my anger by burning incense to Baal.(G)
