Jeremiah 10:21-23
New American Standard Bible
21 For the shepherds have become stupid
And (A)have not sought the Lord.
Therefore they have not prospered,
And (B)all their flock is scattered.
22 The sound of a (C)report! Behold, it is coming—
A great roar (D)from the land of the north—
To (E)make the cities of Judah
A desolation, a haunt of jackals.
23 I know, Lord, that (F)a person’s way is not in himself,
(G)Nor is it in a person who walks to direct his steps.

21 The shepherds(A) are senseless(B)
and do not inquire of the Lord;(C)
so they do not prosper(D)
and all their flock is scattered.(E)
22 Listen! The report is coming—
a great commotion from the land of the north!(F)
It will make the towns of Judah desolate,(G)
a haunt of jackals.(H)

23 Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own;
