²³ “Then I will ^(A)appoint over them one ^(B)shepherd, My servant ^(C)David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant ^(D)David will be prince among them; I the Lord have spoken.

The Davidic Kingdom

²⁴ “And My servant ^(A)David will be king over them, and they will all have ^(B)one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes and ^[a]follow them. ²⁵ And they will live on the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and My servant ^(C)David will be their leader forever.

⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel will ^(A)return and seek the Lord their God and ^(B)David their king; and ^(C)they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness in the last days.

³⁰ So because he was ^(A)a prophet and knew that ^(B)God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one ^[a]of his descendants on his throne,

^23 (A)From the descendants of this man, ^(B)according to promise, God has brought to Israel ^(C)a Savior, Jesus,

³⁴ As for the fact that He ^(A)raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘^(B)I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’
