Isaiah 5:25-30
New American Standard Bible
25 For this reason the (A)anger of the Lord has burned against His people,
And He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them.
And the (B)mountains quaked, and their (C)corpses [a]lay like refuse in the middle of the streets.
(D)Despite all this, His anger [b]is not spent,
But His (E)hand is still stretched out.
26 He will also lift up a (F)flag to the distant [c]nation,
And (G)whistle for it (H)from the ends of the earth;
And behold, it will (I)come with speed swiftly.
27 (J)No one in it is tired or stumbles,
No one slumbers or sleeps;
Nor is the (K)undergarment at his waist loosened,
Nor his sandal strap broken.
28 [d](L)Its arrows are sharp and all its bows are bent;
The hoofs of its horses [e]seem like flint, and its chariot (M)wheels like a storm wind.
29 Its (N)roaring is like a lioness, and it roars like young lions;
It growls as it (O)seizes the prey
And carries it off with (P)no one to save it.
30 And it will (Q)roar against it on that day like the roaring of the sea.
If one (R)looks across to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress;
Even the light is darkened by its clouds.

Isaiah 17:12-14
New American Standard Bible
12 Oh, the uproar of many peoples
(A)Who roar like the roaring of the seas,
And the rumbling of nations
Who rush on like the (B)rumbling of mighty waters!
13 The (C)nations rumble on like the rumbling of many waters,
But He will (D)rebuke them, and they will flee far away,
And be chased (E)like chaff on the mountains before the wind,
Or like whirling dust before a gale.
14 At evening time, behold, there is terror!
Before morning (F)they are gone.
This will be the [a]fate of those who plunder us
And the lot of those who pillage us.
