²¹Woe to those who are ^(A)wise in their own eyes

Isaiah 5:21

New International Version

²¹Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes^(A)
and clever in their own sight.

²⁰He ^[a]^(A)feeds on ashes; a ^(B)deceived heart has misled him. And he cannot save ^[b]himself, nor say, “^(C)Is there not a lie in my right hand?”

²⁰Such a person feeds on ashes;^(A) a deluded^(B) heart misleads him;
he cannot save himself, or say,
“Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?^(C)”
