11 But (A)evil will come on you
Which you will not know how to charm away;
And disaster will fall on you
For which you cannot atone;
And (B)destruction about which you do not know
Will come on you (C)suddenly.

12 “Persist now in your (D)spells
And in your many sorceries
With which you have labored from your youth;
Perhaps you will be able to benefit,
Perhaps you may cause trembling.
13 You are (E)wearied with your many counsels;
Let now the (F)astrologers,
Those who prophesy by the stars,
Those who predict by the new moons,
Stand up and (G)save you from what will come upon you.

    and you will not know how to conjure it away.
A calamity will fall upon you
    that you cannot ward off with a ransom;
a catastrophe you cannot foresee
    will suddenly(B) come upon you.

12 “Keep on, then, with your magic spells
    and with your many sorceries,(C)
    which you have labored at since childhood.
Perhaps you will succeed,
    perhaps you will cause terror.
13 All the counsel you have received has only worn you out!(D)
    Let your astrologers(E) come forward,
those stargazers who make predictions month by month,
    let them save(F) you from what is coming upon you.
