19 I will (A)betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me in (B)righteousness and in justice,
In favor and in compassion,
20 And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness.
Then you will (C)know the Lord.
21 “And it will come about on that day that (D)I will respond,” declares the Lord.
“I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth,
22 And the (E)earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine, and to the oil,
And they will respond to [a]Jezreel.
23 I will (F)sow her for Myself in the land.
(G)I will also have compassion on [b]her who had not obtained compassion,
And (H)I will say to [c]those who were (I)not My people,
‘You are My people!’
And [d]they will say, ‘You are my God!’”

21 “In that day I will respond,”
declares the Lord—
“I will respond(F) to the skies,
and they will respond to the earth;
22 and the earth will respond to the grain,
the new wine and the olive oil,(G)
and they will respond to Jezreel.[d](H)
23 I will plant(I) her for myself in the land;
I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.[e](J)’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,[f]’ ‘You are my people’;(K)
and they will say, ‘You are my God.(L)’”

26 (A)so that He might sanctify her, having (B)cleansed her by the (C)washing of water with (D)the word, 27 that He might (E)present to Himself the church [a]in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be (F)holy and blameless. 28 So husbands also ought to (G)love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are (H)parts of His (I)body. 31 (J)For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. 32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to (K)love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she (L)respects her husband.

26 to make her holy,(A) cleansing[a] her by the washing(B) with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself(C) as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.(D) 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives(E) as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.(F) 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[b](G) 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife(H) as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
