Hebrews 5:5-7

5 So too Christ (A)did not glorify Himself in becoming a (B)high priest, but it was He who (C)said to Him,
“(D)You are My Son,
Today I have fathered You”;
6 just as He also says in another passage,
7 In the days of [a]His humanity, [b](G)He offered up both prayers and pleas with (H)loud crying and tears to the One (I)able to save Him [c]from death, and He [d]was heard because of His (J)devout behavior.

5 In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory(A) of becoming a high priest.(B) But God said(C) to him,
6 And he says in another place,
7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions(G) with fervent cries and tears(H) to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard(I) because of his reverent submission.(J)
