⁵ He raised his eyes and saw the women and the children, and said, “^[a]Who are these with you?” So he said, “^(A)The children whom God has graciously given your servant.”

⁴ and He said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and numerous, and I will make you a multitude of peoples, and will give this land to your ^[a]descendants after you as ^(A)an everlasting possession.’

³ Then ^(A)I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates River and led him through all the land of Canaan, and ^(B)multiplied his ^[a]descendants and gave him ^(C)Isaac. ⁴ To Isaac I gave ^(D)Jacob and Esau, and ^(E)to Esau I gave Mount Seir, to possess it; but ^(F)Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.
