¹³ Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “^[a]You are ^[b]a God who sees me”; for she said, “^(A)Have I even seen Him here and lived after ^[c]He saw me?”

¹⁰ and ^(A)they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet ^[a](B)there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, ^[b]as clear as the sky itself. ¹¹ Yet He did not reach out with His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and ^(C)they saw God, and they ate and drank.

²⁰ He further said, “You cannot see My face, ^(A)for mankind shall not see Me and live!”

^22 (A)When Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the Lord, ^[a]he said, “Oh, Lord ^[b]God! For I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face!”
