    could not rival it,
nor could the junipers
    equal its boughs,
nor could the plane trees^(B)
    compare with its branches—
no tree in the garden of God
    could match its beauty.^(C)

    behind them a flame blazes.
Before them the land is like the garden of Eden,^(B)
    behind them, a desert waste^(C)—
    nothing escapes them.
