⁷ And the Lord ^(A)appeared to Abram and said, “^(B)To your ^[a]descendants I will give this land.” So he built ^(C)an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

⁴ I also established ^(A)My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the ^[a]land in which they lived as strangers. ⁵ Furthermore I have ^(B)heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. ⁶ Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘^(C)I am the Lord, and ^(D)I will bring you out from under the labors of the Egyptians, and I will rescue you from their bondage. I will also ^(E)redeem you with ^(F)an outstretched arm, and with great judgments. ⁷ Then I will take you ^[b](G)as My people, and ^(H)I will be ^[c]your God; and ^(I)you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the labors of the Egyptians. ⁸ I will bring you to the land which ^(J)I ^[d]swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and ^(K)I will give it to you as a possession; ^(L)I am the Lord.’”
