8 The cedars in God’s garden could not eclipse it;(A)
the pine trees couldn’t compare with its branches,
nor could the plane trees match its boughs.
No tree in the garden of God
could compare with it in beauty.
9 I made it beautiful with its many limbs,
and all the trees of Eden,
which were in God’s garden, envied it.
10 “‘Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: Since it[a] towered high in stature and set its top among the clouds, and it[b] grew proud(B) on account of its height,

8 The cedars(A) in the garden of God
could not rival it,
nor could the junipers
equal its boughs,
nor could the plane trees(B)
compare with its branches—
no tree in the garden of God
could match its beauty.(C)
9 I made it beautiful
with abundant branches,
the envy of all the trees of Eden(D)
in the garden of God.(E)
10 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because the great cedar towered over the thick foliage, and because it was proud(F) of its height,
