Exodus 23:7-9

New American Standard Bible

⁷^(A)Keep far from a false charge, and ^(B)do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for ^(C)I will not acquit the guilty.

⁸“^(D)You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and ^[a]subverts the cause of the just.

⁹“^(E)You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the ^[b]feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.

⁷Have nothing to do with a false charge^(A) and do not put an innocent^(B) or honest person to death,^(C) for I will not acquit the guilty.^(D)

⁸“Do not accept a bribe,^(E) for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.

⁹“Do not oppress a foreigner;^(F) you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.
