Exodus 22:3-5
New American Standard Bible
3 If the sun has risen on him, there will be guilt for bloodshed on his account—A thief shall certainly make restitution; if he owns nothing, then he shall be (A)sold for his theft. 4 If what he stole is actually found alive in his [a]possession, whether an ox or a donkey or a sheep, (B)he shall pay double.
5 “If someone lets a field or vineyard be grazed bare and lets his animal loose so that it grazes in another person’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard.

3 but if it happens after sunrise, the defender is guilty of bloodshed.
“Anyone who steals must certainly make restitution,(A) but if they have nothing, they must be sold(B) to pay for their theft. 4 If the stolen animal is found alive in their possession(C)—whether ox or donkey or sheep—they must pay back double.(D)
5 “If anyone grazes their livestock in a field or vineyard and lets them stray and they graze in someone else’s field, the offender must make restitution(E) from the best of their own field or vineyard.
