⁴ “^(A)You shall not make for yourself ^[a]an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth.

Blessings of Obedience

26 ‘You shall not make for yourselves ^(A)idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves ^(B)a carved image or ^(C)a memorial stone, nor shall you place a ^(D)figured stone in your land to bow down ^[a]to it; for I am the Lord your God.

⁸ ‘^(A)You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any ^[a]likeness of what is in heaven above ^[b]or on the earth beneath ^[c]or in the water under the earth. ⁹ You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, ^(B)inflicting the ^[d]punishment of the fathers on the children, ^[e]even on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

¹⁵ ‘Cursed is the person who makes ^(A)a carved image or cast metal image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of a craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ And ^(B)all the people shall reply and say, ‘Amen.’
