³⁷ Then He brought ^[a]the Israelites out with ^(A)silver and gold,
And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.
³⁸ Egypt was ^(B)glad when they departed,
For the ^(C)dread of them had fallen upon ^[b]the Egyptians.
³⁹ He spread out a ^(D)cloud as a ^[c]covering,
And ^(E)fire to illumine by night.
^40 [d]They ^(F)asked, and He brought ^(G)quail,
And satisfied them with the ^[e](H)bread of heaven.
⁴¹ He opened the ^[f]rock and ^(I)water flowed out;
^[g]It ran in the dry places like a river.
⁴² For He ^(J)remembered His holy word
With His servant Abraham;
⁴³ And He led out His people with joy,
His chosen ones with a joyful ^(K)shout.
⁴⁴ He also ^(L)gave them the lands of the ^[h]nations,
So that they ^(M)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
⁴⁵ And that they might ^(N)keep His statutes
And comply with His laws;
^[i]Praise ^[j]the Lord!

⁴⁶ He also made them ^(A)objects of compassion
In the presence of all their captors.
