¹⁰ “Then it shall come about when the Lord your God brings you into the land that He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you, ^(A)great and splendid cities which you did not build, ¹¹ and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and carved cisterns which you did not carve out, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and ^(B)you eat and are satisfied, ¹² be ^[a]careful that ^(C)you do not forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of ^[b]slavery.

¹⁰ When ^(A)you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.

¹⁹ And it shall come about, if you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and serve and worship them, ^(A)I testify against you today that you will certainly perish.

^16 [a](A)Beware that your hearts are not easily deceived, and that you do not turn away and serve other gods, and worship them. ¹⁷ Otherwise, ^(B)the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will ^(C)shut up the sky ^(D)so that there will be no rain, and the ground will not yield its produce; then ^(E)you will quickly perish from the good land which the Lord is giving you.
