Israel Urged to Obey God’s Law

4 “Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which ^(A)I am teaching you to perform, so that ^(B)you will live and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

¹⁶ ‘^(A)Honor your father and your mother, just as the Lord your God has commanded you, ^(B)so that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well for you on the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

^29 (A)If only they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and ^(B)keep all My commandments always, so that ^(C)it would go well with them and with their sons forever!

^33 (A)You shall walk ^[a]entirely in the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, ^(B)so that you may live and that it may be well for you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.

³ Now Israel, you shall listen and be careful to do them, so that ^(A)it may go well for you and that you may increase greatly, just as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has ^[a]promised you, in ^(B)a land flowing with milk and honey.
