¹⁷ But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but allow yourself to be led astray and you worship other gods and serve them, ¹⁸ I declare to you today that ^(A)you will certainly perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter ^[a]and take possession of it.

¹⁹ “^(A)But if you turn away and abandon My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, ^20 (B)then I will uproot ^[a]you from My land which I have given ^[b]you, and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight; and I will make it ^(C)a proverb and an object of scorn among all peoples.
