Daniel 5:19-21
New American Standard Bible 1995
19 Because of the grandeur which He bestowed on him, all the peoples, nations and men of every [a]language feared and trembled before him; (A)whomever he wished he killed and whomever he wished he spared alive; and whomever he wished he elevated and whomever he wished he humbled. 20 But when his heart was (B)lifted up and his spirit became so [b](C)proud that he behaved arrogantly, he was (D)deposed from his royal throne and his glory was taken away from him. 21 He was also (E)driven away from [c]mankind, and his heart was made like that of beasts, and his dwelling place was with the (F)wild donkeys. He was given grass to eat like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until he recognized that the (G)Most High God is ruler over the realm of mankind and that He sets over it whomever He wishes.

New International Version
19 Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death;(A) those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled.(B) 20 But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride,(C) he was deposed from his royal throne(D) and stripped(E) of his glory.(F) 21 He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign(G) over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes.(H)
