¹² Because of this the king became ^(A)indignant and very furious and gave orders to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. ¹³ So the ^[a]decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they looked for ^(B)Daniel and his friends to ^[b]kill them.

⁶ But whoever does not fall down and worship shall ^[a]immediately be ^(A)cast into the midst of a ^(B)furnace of blazing fire.”

³ And a ^(A)mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great authority and ^(B)do as he pleases.

¹⁶ But he who comes against him will ^(A)do as he pleases, and ^(B)no one will be able to withstand him; he will also stay for a time in the ^[a](C)Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand.

³⁶ “Then the king will ^(A)do as he pleases, and he will exalt and ^(B)magnify himself above every god and will ^(C)speak ^[a]monstrous things against the ^(D)God of gods; and he will prosper until the ^(E)indignation is finished, for that which is ^(F)decreed will be done.
