Daniel 11:34-36
New Century Version
34 When the wise ones are suffering, they will get a little help, but many who join the wise ones will not help them in their time of need. 35 Some of the wise ones will be killed. But the hard times must come so they can be made stronger and purer and without faults until the time of the end comes. Then, at the right time, the end will come.
The King Who Praises Himself
36 “The king of the North will do whatever he wants. He will brag about himself and praise himself and think he is even better than a god. He will say things against the God of gods that no one has ever heard. And he will be successful until all the bad things have happened. Then what God has planned to happen will happen.

34 When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere(A) will join them. 35 Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined,(B) purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
The King Who Exalts Himself
36 “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself(C) above every god and will say unheard-of things(D) against the God of gods.(E) He will be successful until the time of wrath(F) is completed, for what has been determined must take place.(G)
