2 And it came about, [a]when it had (A)finished eating the vegetation of the land, that I said,
“(B)Lord God, please pardon!
How can Jacob stand?
For he is (C)small.”
3 The Lord (D)relented of this.
“It shall not be,” said the Lord.
4 So the Lord God showed me, and behold, the Lord God was calling to contend with them by (E)fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the [b]farmland.

2 When they had stripped the land clean,(A) I cried out, “Sovereign Lord, forgive! How can Jacob survive?(B) He is so small!(C)”
3 So the Lord relented.(D)
“This will not happen,” the Lord said.(E)
4 This is what the Sovereign Lord showed me: The Sovereign Lord was calling for judgment by fire;(F) it dried up the great deep and devoured(G) the land.
