An Ethiopian Receives Christ

²⁵ So, when they had solemnly ^(A)testified and spoken ^(B)the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were ^(C)preaching the gospel to many villages of the ^(D)Samaritans.

⁴⁹ And ^(A)the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region.

³⁵ But ^(A)Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and ^(B)preaching ^(C)the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Second Missionary Journey

³⁶ After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return and visit the brothers and sisters in ^(D)every city in which we proclaimed ^(E)the word of the Lord, and see how they are.” ³⁷ Barnabas wanted to take ^(F)John, called Mark, along with them also. ³⁸ But Paul was of the opinion that they should not take along with them this man who had ^(G)deserted them ^[a]in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work. ³⁹ Now it turned into such a sharp disagreement that they separated from one another, and Barnabas took ^(H)Mark with him and sailed away to ^(I)Cyprus. ⁴⁰ But Paul chose ^(J)Silas, and left after being ^(K)entrusted by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. ⁴¹ And he was traveling through ^(L)Syria and ^(M)Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

¹⁰ This took place for ^(A)two years, so that all who lived in ^[a](B)Asia heard ^(C)the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.

²⁰ So ^[a](A)the word of the Lord ^(B)was growing and prevailing mightily.
