⁵ The ^[a]announcement found approval with the whole ^[b]congregation; and they chose ^(A)Stephen, a man ^(B)full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and ^(C)Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and ^[c]Nicolas, a ^[d](D)proselyte from ^(E)Antioch.

²⁶ But ^(A)an angel of the Lord spoke to ^(B)Philip, saying, “Get ready and go ^[a]south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to ^(C)Gaza.” (^[b]This is a desert road.)

³⁰ Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
