7 These women are always learning new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth fully. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres were against Moses, these people are against the truth. Their thinking has been ruined, and they have failed in trying to follow the faith. 9 But they will not be successful in what they do, because as with Jannes and Jambres, everyone will see that they are foolish.

7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.(A) 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses,(B) so also these teachers oppose(C) the truth. They are men of depraved minds,(D) who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men,(E) their folly will be clear to everyone.
