⁸ Then he brought all the priests from the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from ^(A)Geba to Beersheba; and he tore down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on one’s left at the city gate. ⁹ Nevertheless ^(B)the priests of the high places did not go up to the altar of the Lord in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.

²⁶ Her ^(A)priests have done violence to My Law and have ^(B)profaned My holy things; they have made no ^(C)distinction between the holy and the ^[a]common, and they have not taught the difference between the ^(D)unclean and the clean; and they have closed their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am defiled among them.

¹² Since they ministered to them ^(A)before their idols and became a ^(B)stumbling block of wrongdoing to the house of Israel, for that reason I have ^[a](C)sworn against them,” declares the Lord God, “that they shall ^(D)suffer the punishment for their wrongdoing.
