¹⁹ “^(A)But if you turn away and abandon My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,

¹⁹ And it shall come about ^(A)when ^[a]they say, ‘Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ then you shall say to them, ‘Just as you have abandoned Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will ^(B)serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

⁹ Then they will ^[a]answer, ‘Because they ^(A)abandoned the covenant of the Lord their God and bowed down to other gods and served them.’”
