46 This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I will strike you and remove your head from you. Then I will give the (A)dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth, (B)so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that this entire assembly may know that (C)the Lord does not save by sword or by spear; (D)for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will hand you over to us!”
48 Then it happened, when the Philistine [a]came closer to meet David, that (E)David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.

46 This day the Lord will deliver(A) you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses(B) of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world(C) will know that there is a God in Israel.(D) 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword(E) or spear that the Lord saves;(F) for the battle(G) is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.
