And the Lord said to him, “(A)I have heard your prayer and your plea which you have offered before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built, (B)by putting My name there forever, and (C)My eyes and My heart will be there [a]always. As for you, (D)if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and honesty, acting in accordance with everything that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My ordinances, then (E)I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, just as I [b]promised to your father David, saying, ‘[c]You shall not be deprived of a man on the throne of Israel.’

“As for you, if you walk before me faithfully with integrity of heart(D) and uprightness, as David(E) your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws,(F) I will establish(G) your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail(H) to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’
