²⁵Then King Solomon ^(A)sent the order by Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he ^[a]struck him so that he died.

New International Version

²⁵So King Solomon gave orders to Benaiah^(A) son of Jehoiada, and he struck down Adonijah and he died.^(B)

³⁴Then ^(A)Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and ^[a]struck him and put him to death, and he was buried at his own house ^(B)in the wilderness.

³⁴So Benaiah^(A) son of Jehoiada went up and struck down Joab^(B) and killed him, and he was buried at his home out in the country.
