^2 (A)You know that when you were ^[a]pagans, you were ^(B)led ^[b]astray to the ^(C)mute idols, however you were led.

² in which you ^(A)previously walked according to the ^[a]course of ^(B)this world, according to ^(C)the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in ^(D)the ^[b]sons of disobedience. ³ Among them ^[c]we too all ^(E)previously lived in ^(F)the lusts of our flesh, ^[d]indulging the desires of the flesh and of the ^[e]mind, and were ^(G)by nature ^(H)children of wrath, ^(I)just as the rest. ⁴ But God, being ^(J)rich in mercy, because of ^(K)His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even when we were ^(L)dead ^[f]in our wrongdoings, made us alive together ^[g]with Christ (^(M)by grace you have been saved), ⁶ and ^(N)raised us up with Him, and ^(O)seated us with Him in ^(P)the heavenly places in ^(Q)Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the ages to come He might show the ^[h]boundless ^(R)riches of His grace in ^(S)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For ^(T)by grace you have been saved ^(U)through faith; and ^[i]this is not of yourselves, it is ^(V)the gift of God; ^9 (W)not a result of works, so that ^(X)no one may boast. ¹⁰ For we are His workmanship, ^(Y)created in ^(Z)Christ Jesus for ^(AA)good works, which God ^(AB)prepared beforehand so that we would ^(AC)walk in them.

¹¹ Therefore remember that ^(AD)previously ^(AE)you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “^(AF)Uncircumcision” by the so-called “^(AG)Circumcision” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— ¹² remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, ^[j](AH)excluded from ^[k]the people of Israel, and strangers to ^(AI)the covenants of the promise, having ^(AJ)no hope and ^(AK)without God in the world. ¹³ But now in ^(AL)Christ Jesus you who ^(AM)previously were ^(AN)far away ^[l]have ^(AO)been brought near ^[m](AP)by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For He Himself is ^(AQ)our peace, ^(AR)who made both groups into one and broke down the ^[n]barrier of the dividing wall, ^15 [o]by ^(AS)abolishing ^[p]in His flesh the hostility, which is ^(AT)the Law composed of commandments expressed in ordinances, so that in Himself He might ^[q](AU)make the two ^(AV)one new person, in this way establishing ^(AW)peace; ¹⁶ and that He might ^(AX)reconcile them both in ^(AY)one body to God through the cross, ^[r]by it having ^(AZ)put to death the hostility. ¹⁷ And ^(BA)He came and preached ^(BB)peace to you who were ^(BC)far away, and peace to those who were ^(BD)near; ¹⁸ for through Him we both have ^(BE)our access in ^(BF)one Spirit to ^(BG)the Father. ¹⁹ So then you are no longer ^(BH)strangers and foreigners, but you are ^(BI)fellow citizens with the ^[s]saints, and are of ^(BJ)God’s household, ²⁰ having been ^(BK)built on ^(BL)the foundation of ^(BM)the apostles and prophets, ^(BN)Christ Jesus Himself being the ^(BO)cornerstone, ^21 (BP)in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into ^(BQ)a holy ^[t]temple in the Lord, ²² in whom you also are being ^(BR)built together into a ^(BS)dwelling of God in the Spirit.

^5 (A)Therefore, ^[a]treat ^(B)the parts of your earthly body as dead to ^(C)sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which ^[b]amounts to idolatry. ⁶ For it is because of these things that ^(D)the wrath of God is coming ^[c]upon the ^[d]sons of disobedience, ⁷ and ^(E)in them you also once walked, when you were living ^[e]in them.

^3 (A)For we too were once foolish, ^(B)disobedient, ^(C)deceived, ^(D)enslaved to ^(E)various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in ^(F)malice and ^(G)envy, hateful, hating one another. ⁴ But when the ^(H)kindness of ^(I)God our Savior and His love for mankind ^(J)appeared, ^5 (K)He saved us, ^(L)not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but ^(M)in accordance with His mercy, by the ^(N)washing of regeneration and ^(O)renewing by the Holy Spirit, ^6 (P)whom He ^(Q)richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that being justified by His grace we would be made ^(R)heirs ^[a]according to the hope of eternal life.
