¹⁰ Then he said to them, “Go, eat the festival foods, drink the sweet drinks, and ^(A)send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your ^[a]refuge.”

⁶ The one who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and the one who eats, ^[a]does so with regard to the Lord, for he ^(A)gives thanks to God; and the one who does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat, and he gives thanks to God. ⁷ For not one of us ^(B)lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or ^(A)whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.
