Titus Manius

MANIUS, TITUS tī’ təs mā’ nĭ əs (Τίτος Μάνιος). One of two Rom. legates who, in 164 b.c., sent a letter to the Jewish people confirming the concessions that had been made to them by Lysias after he had been beaten by them in battle, and offered to act in their behalf in the coming negotiations with Antiochus Epiphanes at Antioch (2 Macc 11:34-38). Attempts to identify Titus Manius have not been successful.
