NEPHISIM nĭ fĭ’ sĭm (נְפִיסִים, H5873). Eponym of a family of Temple servants who returned from the Babylonian Exile; perhaps related to the Naphish Ishmaelites (Ezra 2:50; KJV, ASVmg. NEPHUSIM; 1 Esd 5:31; KJV, ASV NAPHISI); called NEPHUSHESIM in Nehemiah 7:42 (KJV, ASVmg. NEPHISHESIM).
