Most High

MOST HIGH (עֶלְיֹֽון, ὕψιστος, G5736). A name for God.

Elyon is thought to be one of the more ancient names for the God of Israel. Melchizedek, e.g., was a priest of El Elyon (the God Most High) rather than to Yahweh, as He is later called (Gen 14:18ff., cf. Heb 7:1). The psalmists use the term twenty-one times (7:17; 9:2; 18:13; et al.). It occurs three times in the Aram. of Daniel (7:22, 25, 27). The demons address Jesus as “Son of the Most High God” (Mark 5:7; Luke 8:28). See Names of God.
