MORNING STAR (φωσφόρος, G5892, light-bearer). A planet, esp. Venus, visible in the eastern sky before sunrise, and heralding the appearance of the sun. The words are used fig. of Christ, although their precise meaning is uncertain (2 Pet 1:19; KJV DAYSTAR; Rev 2:28; 22:16).
