Mishma

MISHMA mĭsh’ mə (מִשְׁמַ֥ע, LXX Μας(α, G1) μα(ν, G3708), the word is used in Heb. as a thing heard (Isa 11:3); as a personal name it means an obedient person. A masculine personal name.

1. The fifth of the twelve sons of Ishmael, Abraham’s son through Hagar, Sarah’s Egyp. maid (Gen 25:14 and 1 Chron 1:30).

2. The sons of Simeon listed in 1 Chronicles 4:25 include some offspring not given in Genesis 46:10. It seems likely that Mibsam and Mishma are not in the Genesis account because they were born after Jacob and his family moved to Egypt.
