MESHA mē’ shə. 1. מֵישָׁ֥ע. KJV and ASV form of Mareshah in 1 Chronicles 2:42. He was the firstborn son of Caleb and the father of Ziph.

2. מֵישָׁ֖א. Son of Shaharaim, a Benjaminite; born in the land of Moab (1 Chron 8:9).

3. מַשָּֽׂא. One of the limits of the land occupied by the descendants of Joktan (Gen 10:30). Some have identified it with the Massa of the Ishmaelite group (Gen 25:14). See also Mesha King of Moab.
